IPL 2018 Auction: Delhi Daredevils bag Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Shami, RCB get Umesh Yadav
Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 auctions saw a few pacers turn heads but it was South Africa spearhead Kagiso Rabada who grabbed the attention at the auctions as he was retained by the Delhi Daredevils for 4.20 crore. After his performance in the ongoing Test series against India, the pacer will now be seen in Delhi colours in the 11th edition. Team India's Test bowlers Mohammed Shami was retained by Delhi Daredevils whereas Umesh Yadav was brought by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Surprisingly, Australia pacers Mitchell Johnson, Josh Hazlewood, New Zealands Tim Southee, Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga and Mitchell McCleanaghan went unsold. Shockingly, it was Team India's Ishant Sharma who remains on the unsold bench as well.
